Kai Greene and the Mr. Olympia… Dan Solomon answers the big question

Will Kai Greene compete at the 2021 Mr. Olympia? Dan Solomon and Tamer El Guindy give the answers to one of the most debated topics in the bodybuilding world.

Whenever Olympia Weekend President Dan Solomon sits down for an interview, the subject of Kai Greene is always brought up.

At the recent 2021 California State Pro, Dan Solomon and Olympia Producer Tamer El Guindy talked about the Olympia Weekend and Kai Greene.

Dan and Tamer spoke about the challenges they faced organizing the 2020 Olympia Weekend. When speaking about the 2020 Mr. Olympia, Dan Solomon admitted that he gets very emotional when speaking about that event.

From changing venues at the last minute to creating one of the best Olympia Weekend’s in the history of the contest, Dan said that he will always remember the 2020 Olympia Weekend as one of his greatest achievements.

From the Olympia Weekend to Kai Greene, Dan Solomon answered the big question about the possibility of Kai Greene competing at the 2021 Mr. Olympia.

Dan explained that the door was and still is always open for Kai Greene to compete at the Mr. Olympia.

Kai has two options on how he can step on the Mr. Olympia stage. He can either qualify by winning a Olympia qualifier or apply for a Special Invite.

By the time the 2021 Olympia Weekend takes place, Kai Greene will possibly be the oldest athlete on stage at the age of 46.

Taking nothing away from Kai Greene, he still can go head to head with any bodybuilder at the Mr. Olympia.

Never out of shape, Kai continues to stay close to competition shape throughout the year.

If Kai picked the option of applying for a ‘Special Invite’, his application would be reviewed by Dan, Jake Wood, Jim Manion and the rest of the organizing committee.

Dan emphasized it is Kai Greene’s decision if he ever wanted to compete at the Mr. Olympia again.

Tamer expressed his opinion by saying that if Kai Greene decides not to compete at the Mr. Olympia again, he will regret this decision for the rest of his life.

The best option for Kai Greene would be to qualify for the 2021 Mr Olympia by winning a contest. This would earn the respect of his fellow competitors.

The ‘Special Invite’ is still a controversial option with the majority of competitors. While some competitors have to compete numerous times to qualify, they see the ‘Special Invite’ as the easy way out.

2020 Mr. Olympia winner Big Ramy was awarded a ‘Special Invite’ and won the event. A number of competitors are still not happy about this.

What is your opinion about Kai Greene and the Mr. Olympia?
