Can Viagra Give You A Better Pump During A Workout?

George Farah reacts to the claims that products like Viagra can help produce the pump if taken before a workout.

You’ve probably heard of this before or at the very least seen it recommended on social media or a YouTube video. The idea that if a bodybuilder takes Viagra or a similar product before training – that they will earn a pump much more effectively. But is this true? And if so, is it really something that bodybuilders should indulge in? In our latest GI Exclusive interview, George Farah sets the record straight on using Viagra before a workout to get the pump.

While it sounds funny, there are some bodybuilders and athletes who actually take Viagra before a workout to help better produce the pump. The pump, of course, is that glorious feeling when your blood is flowing so intensely that it feels like your muscles are about to rip out of the skin. But is it really true that Viagra or a similar equivalent can help give you the pump faster if taken before a workout? While it might seem to make sense at first glance given that these products help improve blood flow – we wanted to consult an expert bodybuilding trainer about it.

George Farah laughs it off. He admits to making these kinds of jokes back in the day about Viagra – but is surprised to see it now take hold as a serious concept. While Farah doesn’t outright deny that Viagra could help improve the pump – he does think it’s a stupid thing to do for a variety of reasons.

One being that Viagra is expensive – and with a laundry list of other supplements bodybuilders need to purchase – adding Viagra to the list is an unneeded expense. He also jokes that it will still give you an erection. This is something that most bodybuilders would want to avoid while training at the gym.

Lastly, George Farah also offers an alternative that can have the same effect at a cheaper price. Not only that but it’s more natural than whatever other substances are put into name brands like Viagra. Farah is referring to Nitric Oxide. According to Farah, this would have the same effect (and is even a good alternative for people with erectile disfunction).

This is all part of George Farah’s attempt to be more transparent and open about how to be a healthy bodybuilder. Farah believes athletes rely on too many name brand solutions that claim to help you – but going a more natural route is always safer. He discusses this with pre-workout and artificial sweeteners as well in this interview.
