Ronnie Coleman Talks Recent 2019 Mr. Olympia
Ronnie Coleman discussed many of the topics related to the world of Men's Open bodybuilding.
Eight-time Mr. Olympia champion Ronnie Coleman say down with Ron Harris of the Ronline Report where he discussed Olympia and competitor topics. And when Coleman was first asked about the new Mr. Olympia champion Brandon Curry, Coleman’s response was…
“I had a really good feeling of the outcome. His overall package was good, the only weakness I saw was that he could have been a little bit more conditioned.”
The discussion of Brandon Curry didn’t linger in the beginning of the video (although it popped back up later on) and the interview often changed directions but Ronnie Coleman was then asked if he’d change something about himself following talk of Curry’s arguably underdeveloped legs and Coleman said he would have wanted his own legs to be bigger since his arms were always a dominant body part.
Then the subject of Hadi Choopan came up and Ronnie Coleman’s opinion about him was that the Iranian bodybuilder only needed to bring up his arms which was the only weakness acknowledged.
But on the other hand, Choopan’s quads are so massive that this may not have been a fair assessment. Choopan planed third at the Olympia which was nothing short of impressive for his first appearance ever.
Discussion of the legend Dexter Jackson followed where Ron Harris brought up how impressive it is that “The Blade” is still competing. And Coleman explained that it’s all about the determination to do it at that age. And apparently, Dexter Jackson is a much different species, competing at an elite level and even making improvements at age 49.
But Coleman made some statements regarding Dexter Jackson’s fourth place performance at the 2019 Olympia. Explaining that as a competitive athlete, Jackson shouldn’t be happy with that placing because first is always the goal.
“Hopefully Dexter Jackson wasn’t happy with fourth place, he just wanted to shout out at some people that said he wasn’t going to place at all.”
