by Matt Weik

The short and quick answer for this is absolutely a YES. In fact, it’s a YES to both a fitness YouTube channel and podcast. They’re FREE to start! Some so many people are a wealth of knowledge and who have a ton of value they can bring to an audience, but for one reason or another, they decide to sit on the sidelines and not create content? Why?! There’s no better time than today to start a fitness YouTube channel or podcast.

WHY YOU SHOULD USE THE MORNING AFTER PILL – NO, NOT THAT ONE

Now that I have your attention, this article actually has nothing to do with your poor judgment and what you did the previous night between the sheets that you’d like to prevent, and everything to do with how physically active you were the day before as well as the hangover you may have from partying a little too hard. What exactly am I referring to? Multivitamins.

WILLIAM BONAC SHOULD WIN THE 2021 ARNOLD CLASSIC

Let me start this article by saying a couple of three things. If you’re a Soprano’s fan, you’ll get that; if not, you’ll be like, “what did he just say?” Anyways, when we talk about bodybuilding and we talk about living legends, we’re talking about a very small club, especially when it comes to active competitors. Guys like Brandon Curry, Big Ramy, and Shawn Rhoden come to mind. You can most definitely add 7x Mr. Olympia Phil Heath to that category and you better not forget Arnold Classic champion William “The Conqueror” Bonac.

RETAIL IS QUICKLY DYING – WHAT CAN SUPPLEMENT BRANDS DO TO HELP?

by Matt Weik

For years now, brick-and-mortar retailers have been getting hit from all angles. Not only are they fighting with the big box locations that purchase in such high volume that it makes it next to impossible to compete on price, but now (more than ever), consumers are going directly to a brand’s website to make their purchases. What can supplement brands do to help their retail partners?

DO YOU TRUST FITNESS INFLUENCERS? I DON’T – HERE’S WHY

I debated for a few days whether or not I wanted to write this article but decided it needed to be done. There are far too many people out there who follow fitness influencers and “experts” and are not only getting bad advice, but the information they are taking away from these fitness influencers can get them hurt or set them up for failure and frustration. They’ll question, “What’s wrong with me?” when in reality, it’s the fault of fitness influencers.

SERGIO OLIVA JR. BURNED BY “FRIENDS”

Guys, let me point something out that you should all take to heart. If you’re involved in the fitness industry and you’re in the habit of confiding in people, proceed with caution. I’m not saying you can’t trust anyone, but you have to be a really solid judge of character if you’re going to talk about your personal life, business dealings, or anything that you wouldn’t want the world to know. When the news hit that IFBB Pro Sergio Oliva Jr was not doing the Chicago Pro, the news spread like wildfire.

BODYBUILDING AND DEPRESSION: IS THERE A CORRELATION BETWEEN THEM?

by Matt Weik

Doing something you love should be fun and bring joy to your life, right? If you were to look at sports, for example, there should be a level of enjoyment each time you pick up a ball, racquet, or bat. Generally, when you no longer find joy in something, or it stops providing you a sense of pleasure, you stop, no? Yet, when you look at bodybuilding, it appears that things aren’t always what they seem.

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION: FORCING FITNESS

  • 6 min read

by Matt Weik

For some of us, fitness and exercise are more for vanity’s sake than anything else. We strive to look good for the opposite sex. We want people to find us attractive. We diet, we hit the gym, we spend more time on cardio equipment than we care to remember – all to impress that hot chick or buff dude. But are we forcing fitness? Is it sustainable by simply being vain and wanting to be happy with what we see physically in the mirror?

DAVE PALUMBO, BOSTON LOYD SHOULD MAKE PEACE

It’s funny, but I often associate people with places – or vice versa. Whenever I think of Bostin Loyd, for example, I think of him at RxMuscle. Whether at their NY studios or there sprawling FL HQ, some of the best interviews and appearances the man once know as Big Daddy B made, seemed to happen alongside the bodybuilding legend, simply known as, Dave “Jumbo” Palumbo.

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO TALKING WITH YOUR SPORTS NUTRITION CUSTOMERS?

by Matt Weik

Maybe I’m old school, but I see a lot of changes in the supplement and sports nutrition industry, and there are a ton of people complaining and losing money due to simply not going back to the basics. Look, I’m no marketing guru, but it seems like supplement brands think they know everything – and they very well may, but most are scratching their heads these days. Whatever happened to talking with your sports nutrition customers?
