Joint soreness

G'day guys
Started at the gym for the first time a few months ago, into my fourth week of DMZ cycle and have become pretty sore in both elbows,shoulders and wrists and was wondering if this is normal or maybe because I have shocked my body into this too early. It's made a pretty big difference in my strength but not so much in stamina but I'm not really sure what all this is really meant to do as I haven't really spoken to anyone about this. I have also noticed a serious weight gain and wish. I had probably been eating better and some less fatty foods but now that I have worked this out I will have to get on the bike and diet for a bit and then start again
