hello all,i am a 44 year old male.a year ago i finally got fed up with my body and joined the gym!when i started it was all about loseing weight i am 6'2" tall and when i reached 230 lbs (all in the wrong places) i decided to do something about it.in 4 months i had lost 65 lbs all on cardio.again i was happy with that result as i had no visable bodyfat but far too thin.i decided to start lifting weights 8 months ago with 2 other friends my schedule is 90 mins a day at the gym weights every other day and cardio the next day.i have stuck with creatine, gnc amp mass, strength vitapacks, and very concious of my diet.i am very frustrated at my upper body gains at this pont.it seems the harder i work the less gains i see.one of my friends has gone the anibolic route with massive gains but this is not what i desire i wish to keep a trimmer body but seriously need some help through my chest and shoulders.without looking like a hulk.have been researching diff cycles at various forums and has just gotten confusing to me.being able to see some results would recharge my gym ambition again.any input on a good cycle for a jump start would be greatly apreciated.

my first jump start cycle, along with others, was halo and cyano for 6 weeks and 4 weeks. You can do that if you want or just go with the halo for 6. That would be great for your first cycle, everyone will feel you need to start small to see how your body does on this stuff but this is no small cycle, you will be very pleased as I was. and im picky...

First of all, your story sounds a lot like what I've gone through. I've put on a ton of muscle. If you're looking to build muscle you are going to have to gain some weight. That doesn't mean you have to get huge, but you have to raise your calories to above maintenance or you're wasting your time. That may be why you are having trouble gaining mass. Cardio can be good for the heart but I'd limit that while bulking up a bit. I'd suggest working a body part everyday for the weekdays but not more than once a week i.e. I'd work legs Monday, chest Tuesday's, off Wednesday, back Thursday , shoulders Friday, arms Saturday. That's just a suggestion. Make sure it's a clean bulk and it'll give you better results since it looks like you are weight conscious. What I mean is that you should make sure that the carbs you eat are slow digesting like brown rice, sweet potatoes, quinoa, oats, definitely oats. Keep your percentages about 40/40/20. 40% carbs and protein, 20% fats. Having said all that, the halo and cyano stack would be good, but again if your diet and exercise routine isn't there, you are wasting your time. You have to pound it hard with a calorie surplus to see the results you want.

Considering your over 40 and say you don't want to take the anabolic route, have you considered where your testosterone levels might be? When i first started trying to get in shape, all i used on my first cycle was a test booster and i had good results. If your in doubt where your levels might be get a refereal from your family doctor for an internal medicine doctor that you can work with. If you don't want a lot of bulk this may be the best start for you. Otherwise I am in total agreement with everything that both bamafan11 and szdzmatter stated. Good luck!

As Push stated one of the first things is to get blood work to make sure you are at a level for your age. Next is the diet, you should be getting around 1-2 grams of protein for each pound of body weight, and about 1gram of carbs per pound of body weight spread through out the day, about six times a day. Next is the weight routine, make sure you are not over training, as I have seen people getting back to the gym over train, and be sure to get plenty of rest for recovery. After you have all this dialed in, wait for about six months to make sure you are making the right gains you want. If you still want a boost, may be try Halo for the first cycle.
