My dr changed my trt from Andro Gel to Depo Test 200mg every week, I started doing my injections myself after a few lessons, doing the actual injection is not a probelm, infact I hardly feel it, but 24 hrs later, the area of the injection realy hurts, kind of like a deep bruse, no redness no swelling, just really sore. The shots in the glutes arent bad, the quads are a whole different story, and lasts about 48-72 hrs. Dr told me not to worry about it, It will get less painfull over time.

Anyone have the same issues?, is this normal?

This is normal with any virgin muscle sites.. and yes your doctor is absolutely correct in that it will lessen or go away after a few injections in that area. Out of curiousity, where in the quad are you pinning? I prefer the very upper part of the vastus lateralus and my ventro gluteals.

You can use the following to sites as a guide if you're looking to try any other muscle groups. My first site injection was not in my glutes or quads, I did it straight into my left pec.. and honestly, I've found pec injections are not only easy, but they're quite possibly the least painful (for me).

Those sites look like they'd be helpful. I've recently gone back to quad injections after not doing those for a long time and the pain followed me around for a couple of days. I kinda prefer delt and triceps. I used a 1.5" needle in tri's recently and put it all the way in for the first time. Nervously. I was expecting to hit bone but didn't. I get very little soreness in those two areas. I'm still trying to figure out ventro glutes. The 2 sites Adrenolin posted indicate it to be much further back than the video I saw online -- I couldn't figure out how there'd be enough muscle there (looked nearer to the hip, to me) for a deep injection. Pecs still makes me nervous so bi's will probably be my next experiment. Another video I saw demonstrated the quad injection and recommended holding pressure on the injection site for a minute after withdrawing the needle. That was supposed to help eliminate residual pain. I didn't notice any difference, myself.

Well its good to know this is normal, but right now it sucks, Im 48 hours post injection and my right quad is hurting bad. Hopefully things will get better with a couple more quad shots, glutes no problem, very little pain after. I noitce from the sites listed they recommend a 23g 1.5inch needle, right now they are giving me a 18 ga for the draw and a 21ga for the injection, is that too large?
