IS BLESSING AWODIBU NOT LIVING UP TO THE HYPE? HE TALKS A GOOD GAME

  • 6 min read

by Matt Weik

I’m not one to start drama, but Blessing walked himself into this one. For someone who talked a good game and spent months trashing Nick Walker, to come in third at the Indy Pro should quiet him down a little (the keyword being “should”). Now, we may find Blessing Awodibu improve slightly going into the New York Pro, but I don’t think there’s any chance that he comes away with a win.

GREAT POSING WINS SHOWS!

Physique-based sports are all about creating a look. That look can be real – or – it can be an illusion. Either works, but it’s all in the presentation. No one cares how strong you are. I’ve heard competitors say they’re the strongest bodybuilder, the strongest Men’s Physique competitor, or the strongest Bikini star. Who cares? The judges certainly don’t. And the fans probably don’t, either. Of course, it’s a great distinction to get yourself pumped up and it might make for some cool motivation clips on Youtube or Instagram, but it’s also a recipe to get injured and/or have your body fall apart. No, what really matters is what the judges see.

EAT CLEAN BRO MEAL PREP SERVICE: MY EXPERIENCE & IS IT WORTH IT?

If you’ve been following my work for any amount of time, you know I often recommend meal prep services. I’ve tried a few in the past and decided to give Eat Clean Bro a try. For those of you who are trying to build muscle or lose body fat, it’s no surprise that your nutrition and the food you put in your mouth will make or break your results. While you can take one day during the week and meal prep all of your meals, a meal prep company like Eat Clean Bro could be an even easier solution.

THINKING ABOUT STARTING A SUPPLEMENT COMPANY? READ THIS FIRST

If you’ve been scrolling through your Facebook feed, you’ve probably seen an ad from Nutracap Labs. They claim to be of service when you’re starting a supplement company. Right on their homepage, it says, “Everything you need at one place – contract manufacturing, custom formulations, private label, design services, and fulfillment.” What they forgot to put there is that they apparently can’t meet labels claims and ownership has been under investigation by the FDA for a while and also carries a history for doing the exact same thing that’s going on right now.

DANA LINN BAILEY – THE COMEBACK OR THE COP OUT?

In Spanish, we have a saying, “dime con quién andas y te diré quién eres.” It translates to tell me who you hang with and I’ll tell you who you are. Hold that thought. Now, I like DLB. I loved her physique when she won the first ever Women’s Physique Olympia and I also liked her physique after the stage. When she won, the category was brand new, and it could have gone in many different directions.

THEY’RE BACK – GOON AND COX MUSCLE TALK

You just can’t keep a good man down – much less two!! I’m so happy to announce the return of Chris “The Goon” Griffin and “Big” Mike Cox to online television. If these names sound familiar, it’s with good reason, as they were the hosts of the IronMag TV series Beast Coast Live!! The show evolved from Griffin’s original series Down And Dirty with The Goon. When D&D went on hiatus, The Goon recruited BMC, and from there they put out a string of shows that featured guests ranging from old school legends to current Olympia champions. Following IronMag TV, BCL went independent, doing another impressive run of episodes, before ultimately going on hiatus. Since then, the two have remained a fixture at the Muscular Development [message] boards, as well as participating in various projects.

BRACE YOURSELF FOR SUPPLEMENT SHORTAGES ON CAFFEINE AND CREATINE!

by Matt Weik

For those of you who are strictly consumers and not deep into the background of the industry from a manufacturer side of the equation, you may not be aware privy to some of the challenges the industry is faced with. That said, brace yourself for the possibility of some fairly severe supplement shortages on your favorite supplements containing caffeine and creatine. If these are two ingredients you can’t seem to live without, you may want to stock up now while you still can!

THE ROCK FOR PRESIDENT?

Ever since Arnold won in California and Jesse “The Body” Ventura won in Minnesota, the idea of athletes successfully running for major, elected office, became conceivable. That’s because we’ve seen a change of the guard. Whereas politicians used to have to be old, grey, and (hopefully) wise, things began to change after the Reagan/Bush era. When Bill Clinton won the presidency, that changed presidential candidacies forever.

BLOOMBERG COMPARES SUPPLEMENTS TO JOHNSON & JOHNSON VACCINE FIASCO?

I’m going to say this right up front, this Bloomberg article I read this morning has me pretty fired up. The title of the article is “FDA’s ‘Abundance of Caution’ Should Extend to Supplements.” I usually don’t call out writers, but this article is so far-fetched and poorly written to fit an agenda that Sarah Green Carmichael should feel embarrassed writing such a terrible and misleading piece. But then again, I really don’t expect anything less coming from a Bloomberg source which already seems to be incredibly biased (especially from a political stance).
