It’s all about the illusion. In bodybuilding, you want to present the best physique, possible, on stage. Sometimes you may be hiding lagging body parts, injuries, and/or even site enhancement spots. You may be your weakest, but you want to look your strongest. Posing, lights, and even your tan and choice of trunks, can make a huge difference in presenting your best you on stage. Bodybuilders are all about presentation.

Life is full of choices. Some are helpful and some are hurtful. The condition of your health is no different. How do you look at your health? Yes, you reading this. Do you look at it like you do time? Where you want to maximize the most from it because we are only given a limited amount of it each day? Or do you look at it like food? Something that you enjoy the heck out of until it’s gone and you find yourself full of regret for eating so much of something you know you shouldn’t have (like eating nearly an entire pizza yourself)?

History has a funny way to repeat itself. Here we go again, once again, Nick Strength And Power is promoting his ages’ old theory that The Black Swan, Breon Ansley, should leave the division he helped build. Once again, Nick Miller polls his fans, after pushing the idea that Breon should make the jump. Although reigning champion Chris Bumstead inspired it, Nick honed it on it and went on the record, stating (1) he agrees with Bumstead (big shock there), and (2) that Breon should move up to The 212 Division.

If there’s one thing that drives me nuts, it’s when bodybuilding gets thrown under the bus and used as a scapegoat. In a recent interview with Chris Hemsworth, he said, “Bodybuilding is seen as vanity, whereas if I put on a bunch of unhealthy weight, or got unhealthily skinny for a role, I’d probably be called a serious actor.”

Making money in the fitness industry has always been a challenge. The vast majority of folks put money and time in, but seldom see any kind of financial return. In fact, they may not see anything in terms of good placings or even accolades; however, it’s something that makes them happy. If you do something that puts a smile on your face and doesn’t hurt anyone in the process, then I say, have at it.

You know I keep it real. And I’m not about to sugar-coat things. 2020 was an absolute shit show for the health and fitness industry. For the most part, health and fitness brands were forced to close down, lock their doors, and wait for the pandemic to hopefully blow over sooner rather than later. Well, that never happened, and we’re still feeling the effects.

NICK WALKER VS BLESSING AWODIBU: THE ONLY INTERESTING THING IN BODYBUILDING

by Matt Weik

The long-awaited New York Pro is just around the corner, and the back and forth between Blessing Awodibu and Nick Walker is heating up. At this point, it would be quite comical if they both went into the show, and neither one of them ended up winning. But right now, they are the only people keeping the state of bodybuilding from going into a dark hibernation and putting everyone to sleep.
