How likely is heart enlargement and valve damage from steroid use? I have read a few animal studies and heard of people having issues, but I have yet to find definitive evidence and it is worrying me.

So, if lipids, blood pressure, and hemacrit is kept in check, what are the chances of experiencing issues? (I understand if no one can say for sure, but figured I would ask just in case) Thank You!

I would also monitor liver enzymes post cycle.

Short term steroid use likely isn't going to cause your heart to enlarge in a way that is dangerous but long term quality studies are lacking at this time.

Thanks for the reply Heavy

When I talked to my endocrinologist she offered me two options for taking care of prolactin issues (which can be causes by steroids) she warned me that cabergoline (caber) causes leaky heart valves only after a prolonged use, which she made it sound like consecutive years of dosing. Other than that if you follow every protocol and take every precaution available you should be fine, although there are always risks involves with using steroids, and you must be aware of the consequences and accept them as possibilities. On a short term sense, you should be alright. A friend of mine told me that one of his gym buddies died due to heart failure while bench pressing, he said his heart exploded and he was using steroids. Could this be the sole cause of his death? Possible. Could this be the only reason he had a heart attack? Probably not.
Anyways if you are worried about this or worried because you have another heart condition and are looking for reassurance, just know there are and will always be risks. Prescription medications all have their risks and different associated side effects as well.
