Im following westside barbell programming with some modifications for sport specifity. Im an amateur strongman and have quite a few competitions lined up this year.

Diet

Im doing a mix of carb cycling and back loading. I have 2 high carb days that are placed on my max effort nights, between 2 and 3 medium carb days placed on my speed/steongman days and the other 2/3 days are low carb on my recovery/off days.
I keep carbs to a minimum until after training each day and i fast from the last time i eat until roughly 11am the following day.

Thanks! Recovery day tomorrow. Oddly i enjoy them. Nothing but sled work,abs and some light hypertrophy work to bring up lagging body parts.

really good day today. did a bit more than i should have for a mini workout, but i can afford to do those things while on gear. The sled work was great. i love sled work. my recovery from my max effort workout yesterday was superb, i should have been sore after pulling a 500 conv deadlift, but i was perfectly fine.

Trained with the coach today. He came up with some interesting things that may help me along the way.

The first was putting the small bars in the top hole of the power rack,then pressing and holding against them for time. These were brutal. I used an axle for all 4 sets,with 25lbs on.

despite feeling like shit, i never felt like i was out of energy to do anything today. my sex drive is meh, but again not due to the r andro. i was able to do some carido with the wife for about 90 minutes last night with no problems.

weighed in at 255 today, which is consistent. pumps at the gym are good, but nothing over the top like when i was running Sdmz 4.

a lot of people are reporting being hungry all the time, im quite the opposite. im never hungry. but i make sure i eat plenty.
 
nothing to report for yesterday, and doubtful for today. i came down with something that had me explosively shitting my brains out all of yesterday. i went to work, but 35lb buckets of safe paw felt like 200 lbs, and shoveling show took a lot of energy. i got home and went to bed. still couldnt sleep till about 1am when my wife got me some night time cold stuff. i was going between cold spells and hot spells, sweating my ass off. im feeling a bit better, and i feel like my strength has returned, but im not 100%.

absolutely no appetite yesterday or today. been trying to get my calories in with saltines and ginger ale.

its doubtful ill go to the gym today, but i may and just do some sled dragging and do my speed lower tomorrow.

thats good to know. i figured it was something i ate. it was either the icecream which just gives me the shits every now and then, or it was my week old chicken, which had that week old chicken smell.
 



thanks guys. compared to yesterday, im feeling a lot better. i ended up taking today off from work, as i slept through all 6 or my alarms, plus their snoozes. i thought about going to the gym and just doing some sled work, but i decided against it. i spent the day sleeping or playing WoW. so im just going to push my schedule back a day. speed squats tomorrow. should give me enough time to gather all my strength back for a max effort upper on saturday.
 
Did my speed lower today as kind of a measure of my recovery from my illness. It was alright. The squats kicked my ass hard. I finished all 12 sets and each rep was fast,but it took me nearly 17 minutes. The deadlifts were easy though.

I did a lot of sled work today. Wasnt really feeling weights today. Ill do a shit ton of upperbody sled work tomorrow as well as some arms.

Weighed 254 today, so everything i lost when i was sick has come back. Pretty sure im just full of shit though. Nothing has really changed much. Ive gotten more hungry, but other sides are the same.
 
Did a lot of upper body sled work. Too much to list or to remember. But i did probably 40 minutes or so.

I ended up getting a lot of forearm work in with the fat bar attached to the sled. That made things terrible . Stupidly terrible.

Then i attached the fat gripz to the crossover handles and did sled rows. Worked up to a couple trips of 180.

Thats when things got interesting.

I took a battle rope, attached it to the prowler and did a couple sets of hand over hand sled pulls. Worked up to a top of 430 in 56 seconds. Not good,but not bad either. Im not really set up well for it,just sitting on a box with no foot holds,but thats what makes it interesting.

Ive got a truck or a truck with a trailer to pull the end of april. Never done that before. Will be fun
