by Matt Weik

2020 is going to be an interesting year for bodybuilding and the IFBB. Not only are people curious to see who will compete at the 2020 Mr. Olympia competition, but I believe even more people are interested in knowing who will be at Athleticon.

Can Roelly Winklaar Ever Win the Mr. Olympia?

by Matt Weik

This is a very interesting topic as a couple of years ago I would have told you absolutely. However, as time goes by, I see his window of opportunity getting smaller and smaller for Roelly Winklaar. This year is a perfect example. With a weak showing of competitors (Phil was out, Ramy was out, Shawn was out), it was truly Roelly’s time to shine and take advantage of the moment and he fell way short. So short, that he almost fell outside of the top 5.

Flexatron, Big Ramy to Compete at the 2020 Arnold Classic?

by Christian Duque

The world of bodybuilding and fitness is on fire as rumors seem to be confirmed that both Shawn “Flexatron” Rhoden and Big Ramy are both wanting to do the 2020 Arnold Classic. A new video from Nick Miller (Nick’s Strength And Power) has added considerable fuel to the fire. The fact that these reports are coming out from a channel as reputable as is, also increase the legitimacy. There’s several factors that make this particular contest unique. For example, those who run the Arnold may not take the same approach with Rhoden that Weider/AMI took for the Olympia.

The 2020 Ms. Olympia Will Be The Best EVER!

by Christian Duque

The party’s over!! It’s looking like the ladies who dominated the sport, many of which have either partially or fully retired from the stage, are looking to make historic comebacks for the 2020 Ms. O. The big question is, how will they fare against the newer, younger champions, like Alina Popa, Helle Trevino, and Theresa Invancik. There are some that say the sport has changed, that it’s moved in a new direction, and that that the champions of yesteryear won’t be competitive today.

Was the 2019 Mr. Olympia as Expected? Worse? Or Better?

by Matt Weik

Olympia Weekend has come and gone and there has been much reflection after the show from all parties involved. Was the 2019 Mr. Olympia Weekend a success? According to AMI and Dan Solomon, the answer is yes. I like to look at all sides of a story and that’s exactly what I’m going to do in this article. Posedown! I mean, let’s break it down.

2019 Mr. Olympia Takeaways

by Geoff Roberts

The 2019 Mr. Olympia is officially down and digested. Coming into the show there were two distinct camps. Those who felt the absence of a reigning champ and several other top guys would make the show more exciting, and those who felt these absences would put a serious damper on this years show. Now that the show has come and passed it’s obvious to me that the latter group was correct. When the man who wins bodybuilding’s greatest title is arguably the third best bodybuilder in the world, the level of excitement has a lower ceiling than usual. That said, there were some bright spots over the weekend, including overwhelming anticipation running into the 2020 Olympia.

William Bonac Placed Higher, “All Alone”

by Christian Duque

First and foremost, let’s qualify the title statement. Bonac wasn’t “all alone” at the 2019 Mr. Olympia, but that line deals with a bit of taunting by Olympia emcee and Bodybuilding Hall of Famer Shawn Ray, who couldn’t help but asking The Conqueror about his “Instagram Movie.” Bonac was totally caught off guard, much like a deer in headlights, when Ray asked him about the IG piece. He hadn’t a clue, nor did many of the other panelists. To put things into perspective, the press conference this year had been very goodnatured, it went very easy on any controversey, and without saying it was boring, I will say it was very PC.

Yamamoto Pro Cup Will Be Bigger Than the Olympia?

by Matt Weik

It’s hard to see past the glitz and glamour of the Olympia production, but at the end of the day, people come to see the competitors on stage. And with some key individuals not at this year’s Olympia, it forces them to get excited about the next competition they will all be at. Which brings up the next pro show. Everyone has been talking about the IFBB Yamamoto Pro Cup being held in Padova, Italy the week after the Olympia. So, I wanted to toss my two cents in as well and discuss what I see it turning out to be and my reasoning.

Fox News Publishes Dishonest Story About Death from Protein Use

by Matt Weik

I’m going to preface this article by saying I’m an independent who does not side primarily on the left or right side of politics but when I’m looking for news, I DO generally watch Fox News. But with that being said, I’m absolutely annoyed with the dishonest news story they published by contributor Alexandria Hein regarding the death of a female due to a “protein-packed diet.”

We’re With You You, Nathan De Asha!

by Christian Duque

He was ready, sharper than ever, and poised to go all the way. Could he have won the Olympia? He absolutely would’ve been a name to watch!! I think he would have been a serious contender for the Top 6 and when you’re talking about The Superbowl of Bodybuilding, that group of six men, represents a group of guys, who any one of which could conceivably walk away with the Sandow. What separates 2nd from 3rd or 5th from 6th could be microscopic; in fact, sometimes, having heart and the will to win can push you up a placing or two. It’s really that close!! Sadly, Nathan De Asha aka The Prophecy finds himself jammed up with a case in the UK, that will keep him out of the 2019 Mr. Olympia, but he didn’t keep the fans in the dark as to why.

Allergies have the ability to knock us on our butt when we least expect it. We are left with itchy eyes, a stuffy nose, pressure in our sinuses, fatigue, and even sometimes pain.
