I just wanted to get some thoughts and opinions on using the Paleo Diet for a cutting cycle. I have seen amazing results using this diet any my energy levels have been through the roof since I cut out all dairy and grains. (WHEY protein is the only exception I have made.)

Planning starting a Halo/Cyno cycle next week.

Age: 30
Height: 6ft
Weight: 214.2lbs (Down from 232lbs)
Body fat: 16.2%
Have been lifting since high school football (seriously for 6 years)

I have never cycled any PH or IML products before... only OTC products.

My Goal: 195 - 205lbs / 8 -10% BF / Strong as FUCK!

I have read that low/no carbs with these cycle is hard as fuck to maintain.

I would appreciate any feed back!

Cheers,

Im a big fan of paleo style diets....there good for getting lean and into the 7-8% range....just dont waver off it much....if you slip up a bit and eat a bunch of processed stuff you will swell up bad...

I did Crossfit for about 6 months. I've done Paleo twice. It is VERY good for cutting. Just make sure you are eating a lot of fruits, veggies, and healthy fats or you will be dragging. Like s2h said, be careful about cheating, you will blow up. I went on and off Paleo when I was rotating between Crossfit and bodybuilding. You can blow up real quick if you start adding processed stuff and gluten back in.

I'm getting ready in a couple months to run this.

Looks to be a bad ass cycle brother.. best of luck with it! May I ask what you have in line for PCT; I'd strongly suggest picking up some E-Control Rx and some Nolvadex or Clomid.

You can use my discount adrenolin15 for 15% Off any IronMagLabs products sold on this site, as well as take advantage of the buy 3 get one FREE deal, which also happens to include FREE shipping. Some major savings! ;)

As far as your dietary assumptions, yes, you are correct in assuming it would be very difficult to maintain muscle mass and strength whilst on a strict low/no carb diet. I highly recommend the Lean Gains (Intermittent Fasting) diet, which will also have you macro cycling for improved results. Your calories and carbs will be a little higher on training days, and a little lower on rest days.

Thanks for the advise!! I have all the recommended supplements IML recommended from the Halo Stack guidelines. I also have liquid Nolvadex on hand just in case shit gets crazy!

I am looking at running a paleo diet for the next 2 months to cut down also. Do you have any suggestions for a meal plan for this type of diet? I see so many conflicting plans its confusing. I am 6'3" 240lb and about 21% bf right now. Looking to get down to 215-220 by November before my annual physical. I am hoping to start a sdmz 2.0 cycle in December if all goes well.

Simply cutting the gluten out of your diet is going to help tremendously as far as leaning out. I found the hardest part is lack of energy for the first week or 2. It's similar to the lethargy you get on a keto diet. You definitely want to make sure you get your healthy fats with this diet, your body needs that fat to burn for fuel since you won't be having any grains for carbs/energy.
Some meal examples for me on Paleo was this:

Breakfast type meal
6 Egg whites, 2 eggs
Slices of Avocado
Banana
Almond milk

Lunch/Dinner type meal
8oz of lean mean (chicken, turkey, steak, fish, etc)
Some type of fruit/veggies
Handful of almonds or almond butter.

Post workout shake:
2 protein scoops
almond milk
mixed frozen fruit

There are some awesome websites with really cool Paleo recipes. You can make some cool cookies and muffins with almond flower.

Be VERY careful when you come off of paleo. If you go back to tons of grains, processed food, and sodium you will blow up like a balloon. Ease back into a normal diet slowy.

Great example of a paleo diet!

Protein shakes are technically not paleo because they are a byproduct of both milk and cheese, but I still use them. I try to follow the 80/20 rule on the paleo diet. The only dairy I will have is protein shakes, but I will incorporate legumes and sweet potato's in my diet. STAY AWAY FROM GRAINS!!! There are so many variations of the paleo diet it's crazy... do your research and find out what works best for you.

I completely forgot to mention protein is technically non-Paleo. However a lot of Paleo guys consider it an "acceptable cheat" because they understand the importance of it. I used it both times I did Paleo and I still had great results.
