GENERATION IRON’S NATTY 4 LIFE: MIKE O’HEARN

by Christian Duque

Whenever someone asks if someone is natty or not, I’m to the point where I don’t even look up anymore. It’s just such a stupid question. And yes folks, there are plenty of stupid questions – and stupid people, too. I mean, who cares if someone uses gear or not? Does their use of PED’s (performance enhancement drugs) affect you in any way, shape, or form? No. But what if you compete against someone who’s using, then you have a leg to stand on, right?

GREG JENNINGS – FROM THE NFL TO THE BODYBUILDING STAGE

There’s something very special about physique-based sports and the amazing champions it draws. We’ve seen folks who played various sports in high school and college try their hand; there have been pro wrestlers, mixed martial artists, and Hollywood celebs – from radio/tv personalities, tv stars, and even quite a few movie stars too. You can’t forget Mark Wahlberg or Sly Stallone, just to name a few. These guys are bodybuilders at heart. Countless people have seen old school photos of Arnold, the biggest name in our sport, others may have seen footage of Lou Ferrigno as The Incredible Hulk, or more recent shots of The Big Nasty, the G.O.A.T. of all times, 8x Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman.

ARE SUPPLEMENTS FOR KIDS THE NEXT BIG INDUSTRY MOVEMENT?

It’s no secret that the future of this nation lays in the hands of our youth. Education is a major push but what about nutrition? Look at what kids are eating these days – it’s junk. We can’t blame the kids, they aren’t out there shopping for food or spending their own money on products, it comes down to the parents and what they are buying for their kids. With that being said, is it safe to say the next big industry move should be focused on supplements for kids?

INSULIN – FROM THE MID 90’S TO NOW

The mere mention of insulin in the sport of bodybuilding brings a ton of reactions. The vast majority of people know to stay away from it. While it’s far more anabolic than testosterone, if it falls into the wrong hands, the risks are far greater than pretty much any substance used in the fitness industry. The only other class of compounds that are remotely as dangerous, would be diuretics; however, those are usually used during the final hours of peak week prior to a contest.

10X MS. OLYMPIA IRIS KYLE WILL COMPETE AT 2020 OLYMPIA!

Just 8 days ago, I penned an article for Iron Magazine, calling for the return of Iris Kyle. In that article, I stated the event simply wouldn’t be the same without the iconic Women’s Bodybuilding champion. While there have been other Ms. Olympias, no woman has won more titles that Kyle. In fact, none of the men have won as much as her, either. Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman are both tied for eight Sandows, each, that’s two less than Kyle.

UFC FIGHTER LOSES CASE CLAIMING MULTI-VITAMIN CONTAINED STEROIDS

I’m not sure what it is with athletes these days who think this product or that product contained steroids and caused a “false positive” in their mind when a drug test came back giving them the news that gets them pulled and disqualified from competition. In most cases, it’s simply the athlete taking something they weren’t supposed to, and it was considered a banned substance. Rather than taking the blame, they point the finger at the supplements they’re taking.

KATINA EATS KILOS – A CHANNEL YOU’LL LOVE!

Watching Youtube videos is something most people love to do. Who would have thought that this one website would almost entirely change the way people all over the world watched videos online? There’s been attempts by other sites to replicate the vision, but everything has paled in comparison. Facebook failed, though it’s trying yet again with IGTV; Vimeo has been trying for a long time, but it’s just not there. Google tried for a while, gave up, and went ahead and bought YouTube. That was probably one of their smartest moves, yet.

2 DRUG TESTS, 2 TOTALLY DIFFERENT OUTCOMES

Let me just come out and say it – I think drug testing in bodybuilding is silly (unless it’s for natural shows). I think testing in general is just a cat and mouse game, anyways, but major league sports seem to see great value in it. Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED’s) are in every sport – whether you want to admit it or not. They’re definitely in physique-based sports and strength-based sports.

Well, FINALLY we have a much-needed supplement course that the industry has been needing for quite some time.
