He’s got a serious illness and he needs help paying for his medical bills. Robby’s situation is, unfortunately, quite common, given our nation’s majorly flawed healthcare system, but I digress.

In the sport of bodybuilding, we have seen what seems like politics being played towards some athletes who have made some poor life choices. And it almost seems like some of those bodybuilders who have been in the news and have had rumors spread about some of their lifestyle behaviors have been robbed of some placings at shows. Now, I’m not here to make this article about judging and such, but rather I want to talk about how the industry looks at people who don’t exactly make good choices with their lives and if it will hurt them in the long run in this industry. The topic and focus of this article will be on Nathan De Asha.

It’s on. It was on when former MPD Olympia champion Jeremy Buendia went after IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Antoine Vaillant for guest posing in boardshorts. The routine was a joke, but it resulted in an all out attack from Buendia against Vaillant. The private feud quickly spilled over onto the net, with Buendia and other Men’s Physique competitors siding up with their champ.

I remember back when I was a kid, I would sit in front of the television playing video games as if it were my job. I would dream of just playing video games all day long and never needing to work a day in my life. Well, that’s the reality of many gamers these days. Who would have thought that e-sports would take off the way that it has and that there is so much money to be made from playing video games like Fortnite?

We are all human. And as humans, many of us like to partake in adult beverages – even if we are in the health and fitness industry. Some of us enjoy a scotch while others like to pop the top of a cold one and enjoy an ice-cold beer. Whichever you choose, you have probably noticed that there are no nutrition labels on them. Those interested in tracking their macros would often question how they should record their alcohol consumption (drinking in moderation). Bud Light has seemed to take the first step in transparency and is now adding their ingredients and nutrition label to their packaging. Is this a step in the right direction or has the brand had one too many in thinking this will change anything? Or maybe that’s just the point?

It really seems as if physique-based sports are falling prey to becoming the next frontier of the world of political correctness. It seems that any attempt at comedy could easily result in a feud. Even discussions based on generalities could lead to drama. Ultimately, each person has their own opinions and outlooks – we’re all different and that should be fine.

To be completely transparent, I can’t stand Dr. Oz. I think he’s a complete quack. That being said, he helped the supplement industry boom for many years, and now looking back, literally every dietary supplement he promoted on his shows have completely failed the test of time in the marketplace. And while he’s not the only quack, I mean doctor, pushing these types of products, he is one of the most recognized for his work (whatever that actually is).

Roelly Winklaar came off of 2018 with some pep in his step. He did well as the Olympia and overall seemed to be hitting stride with his physique. Then came the Arnold Classic in Columbus, OH where he looked nothing like he did in 2018 (everyone knew he was off). He followed up that lackluster appearance with a showing at the Arnold Classic Australia where he again didn’t look as well as he had in the past. There were some reasons behind him looking somewhat out of shape but can he get it together and be ready for the Olympia?

This is an interesting article for me, because both guys have me blocked on various social media platforms. I’m pretty sure Nick blocked me because I was hard on Luimarco. Lui, who? Yeah, he’s been sort of MIA, lately. Phil blocked me, for the same reason Phil has blocked countless fans – for simply saying something he found offensive. I was then, am now, and will likely always be, a huge Shawn “Flexatron” Rhoden fan. I thought Shawn should have won in 2016, I predicted him to win in 2017, and I rallied behind him again in 2018. The truth is, Phil didn’t like the fact Shawn was confident; he also probably didn’t like Kai for the very same reason.
