2020 was a year where either Americans started taking their health and fitness seriously, or they completely fell off the wagon. Regardless, there was one fitness/health company that has seen exponential growth during the pandemic. Who is this company? It’s Oura – the wearable health and fitness smart ring. While I wouldn’t say the product is fashionable by any stretch of the imagination, what it does, on the other hand, is actually quite remarkable and important.

If you watch the top bodybuilders on Youtube, Facebook,and Instagram, you’ll notice that while the physiques continue to improve, the training methods of yesteryear are all but gone. Not only don’t guys lift crazy poundages, but supplement companies have also moved away from ads that promote ridiculous lifts. The name of the game, today, is moreso longevity than wrecking the joints in hopes of some short lived accolades. Athletes don’t want to wide up like Ronnie Coleman, instead, they want long, successful runs like that of Dexter Jackson.

When you think about at-home fitness equipment, most people these days are thinking along the lines of Mirror and Peloton. Both brands are blowing up and spending a lot of money on ads. Similarly, I see Tonal making a big push on social media (at least I’ve noticed they’re targeting ME with their ads).

For as long as I’ve covered bodybuilding and physique based sports, I’ve always wondered why certain people limit themselves. What do I mean by that? Well, bodybuilding has always been a niche sport. Very few people in the mainstream follow it, let alone understand it. In the 90’s the sport saw some considerable growth, as it was featured on Fox and ESPN. The print media also gained some mainstream footholds on newsstands.

When it comes to coffee topics, you know I’m all about that life. Add in the fact that we are taking Coke Zero Sugar and combining it with COFFEE, and you now have my undivided attention. But here’s the interesting part of this whole topic… I wrote about this Coca-Cola with Coffee back in 2018. No joke. Check it out for yourself (article). I was so excited when I heard the project was being worked on and rolled out to various countries, but I mentioned it might never get to the US as the Pepsi version of this product failed miserably.
