A man who is either loved or hated in the industry is none other than Gregg Valentino. Some of you probably know him from his “Ramblin’ Freak” days when he had his column in Muscular Development Magazine. I looked forward to reading Gregg’s column every issue. Look, I hate to say I told ya so, but I TOLD YA SO! Dexter Jackson always gets ignored by the press, he’s routinely excluded from Top 3’s, even Top 5’s, and many of the talking heads are far more concerned with his age than his ability to win bodybuilding contests. The fact is, the degree to which Dexter was ignored leading up to the 2020 Arnold Classic was almost obscene. I mean, there weren’t graphics blasted for him, no one was talking about the fact he was vying for #10, and certainly no one thought he had a snowball in hell’s chance of placing well, much less winning.

Fans all around the world went nuts after they saw William “The Conqueror” Bonac win his second Arnold Classic title in Columbus, OH, this past weekend. Bonac has become, without any doubt, one of the best bodybuilders of his era. He won his first Arnold in 2018, narrowly losing in 2019 to future Mr. Olympia Brandon Curry, and reclaiming the title in top form this past weekend. The 2019 Olympia runner-up left no stone unturned for this prep, doing very little talking, and really focusing on the work at hand.

I was messaging back and forth with my good friend and fellow content writer, Kevin Gretch and he shared some interesting information with me that made me laugh. As of the time of writing this article, the Arnold Classic has yet to make an announcement as to if refunds will be made to those who purchased booths for the event. Sure, the vendors were offered a 5% discount on their union services from the Arnold Classic promoters, but in the end, that’s nothing. Well, it appears the Boston Pro is trying to entice the Arnold Classic vendors to “come on down” (cue the Price Is Right music) and set up shop FOR FREE at their event on June 20, 2020.

The 2020 Arnold Classic will go down in history, not as being an event nearly derailed because of health concerns over the coronavirus, but as one nearly derailed because of the overreactions and the patent disregard shown it, by the State of Ohio. The bottom line is, the City of Columbus, as well as the State of Ohio, are well aware that each year, on a set time, Columbus hosts one of the world’s largest, most respected trade shows, the namesake of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Here of late, we have seen some supplement companies swapping out their boring protein powder flavors for some unique collaborations with other behemoths in other industries and I’m happy to say that Post Consumer Brands (Post Holdings/Post Cereal) has finally decided to dabble in the space with a new (and first of its kind) cereal flavored protein powder to hit the market. And honestly, I’m really excited about this protein powder.

Today, everyone is watching the DOW and looking at what’s happening on a global stage in terms of health scares and how it’s affecting things like stocks, investments, and retirement. Let’s face it, people don’t like seeing their money disappear – I know I don’t. But what a market crash causes is a healthier and more fit population – at least it can for some people.
