I’ve been thinking about this topic for a few days now as I know there will be people on both sides of the fence regarding this topic. I know this will not be my most liked piece of content but I feel like the question needs to be asked. What’s the purpose of bodybuilding? My take on this subject may be completely different from yours but I’d like to open up the dialogue and get everyone’s take.

With all the smack talking going on these days about so and so bodybuilder wouldn’t place top 5 in this era or that era, who cares? That’s like Michael Jordan saying no one from today’s era would be able to guard him. I think we need to take a step back and look at each bodybuilding era for what it is. Let me explain.

The other day I was out with a group of people and a few of us started talking about fitness and nutrition. A couple others overheard us discussing various topics, gave us the most awkward look, and then walked away. It was as if I let out the stinkiest protein fart ever and they were downwind. I was actually taken back by what had just happened and it made me wonder if talking about fitness and nutrition was like talking about religion and politics. Are fitness and nutrition topics that we should not discuss with others openly where others could hear and be offended somehow? Or are more people turning into snowflakes?

Guy Cisternino is not known to hold his tongue. So of course when it comes to New Years and resolutions you know the bodybuilder must have some interesting words on the subject. Surprisingly Cisternino doesn’t want anything to do with the concept of making New Year resolutions because well… you should just do the damn work. So let this video motivate the hell out of you on the first day of 2017. Get in the gym. Make a real change. Don’t just keep grinning with a resolution that means nothing every year.

It’s actually quite simple – you never wanted to do it in the first place. Am I right?
